Chris Jericho’s AEW Contract Extended

A top star has had their AEW contract extended.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio this week that the extension clause in Chris Jericho’s contract has been activated, meaning his deal has been extended by 2-more years. This means he will stay with the company until 2024.

AEW President Tony Khan placed options to extend the contracts of many of AEW’s major stars when they signed with the promotion at the beginning, which included Chris Jericho.

Frankie Kazarian and The Young Bucks have also had their options activated recently.

Cody Rhodes is said to have had a similar clause; however, this wasn’t picked up for the company.

Jericho look’s set for a match against Eddie Kingston, likely at the upcoming AEW Revolution pay-per-view. Kingston returned to AEW television last night to be at ringside for the match between The Inner Circle’s Santana and Ortiz, who took on stable-mates Jake Hager and Jericho.

Kingston would interfere in the match leading to Santana securing a pinfall on Jericho for what is a huge win for the tag team.
