Jon Moxley Returns to New Japan Pro Wrestling

In April 2022, New Japan Pro Wrestling will be heading to Villa Park, Illinois for the Windy City Riot.
The event has been billed as their biggest US show to date and will take place in the Chicago metropolitan area.
This week, New Japan would announce that AEW’s Jon Moxley will be making his New Japan return at the show, with them posting a promo on social media from the man himself. Moxley would say:
“When I think of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, I think of concussions, I think of swollen red chests, I think bruises and swelling. I think of sweat flying, I think of individuals digging down deep into their souls to prove who’s the best on that blue mat. The men who call themselves the best in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Shingo, Okada, and Tanahashi.”
“One thing has not changed. I am the boogeyman in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and nobody can call themselves the best as long as I am lurking in the shadows. So I will be in Chicago on April 16. New Japan Pro-Wrestling, like you always do, bring your best.”
Whilst his opponent has yet to be confirmed, Moxley looks open to any and all challengers from the New Japan roster.
This will be the Death Riders’ first NJPW match since October 2021, where he teamed with Eddie Kingston to take on Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki at NJPW Strong Showdown.
He joins Will Ospreay, Jeff Cobb, Yuji Nagata, Tomohiro Ishii, Jay White, FinnJuice, Tom Lawlor, Jonah, Fred Rosser, and Brody King, all who have already been confirmed for the show.
