We have an update on the situation regarding WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali.

On January 16th, Ali would publicly request his release from WWE stating that he feels he will not be able to deliver his message if he remains in this company.

This also followed talk of a bust-up between Mustafa and Vince McMahon over creative plans, which led to his recent absence from television.

According to Fightful Select, WWE have no interest in granting his wish, with one source stating that “value” was used as to the reason behind keeping him around.

With that said, there are currently no creative plans in place for Ali on screen, although this could change.

It was also noted that there has been very little communication between both sides, and Ali still has well over a year left on his current WWE deal, although no specifics were given over an actual expiration date.

Ali would recently take to Twitter to reinforce his desire to leave WWE, whilst also saying that he isn’t interested in taking part in this year’s Royal Rumble.

According to the Fightful report, at least one talent pitched for Mustafa Ali to eliminate them in the 30-man match. Clearly, the interest didn’t go both ways.
